Jungle Library today

Currently, the Jungle Library holds more than 1,000 books covering a variety of topics, from encyclopedias and novels to children’s literature. An inventory of the books has been taken and coded, organizing them by subject for easier access. Each book has also been covered in clear plastic for better preservation. Due to the jungle climate, the books are exposed to heat, humidity, and insects that feed on organic compounds. The library is managed by Jhony Tamaya Dahua, a resident and esteemed member of the community. He is responsible for keeping track of the books and lending them to residents, who read them at home, as the library does not have a reading room. We recognize the vital role a library plays in a community. Our dream is to expand the library and ensure the books are preserved in optimal conditions. We aspire to create reading rooms, provide computers, printers, and scanners, establish internet access, and develop a digital database. We also aim to bring in more books, fostering an environment where they can be enjoyed. With your donations, we can make this vision a reality!
